Welcome to the Homasy mini wireless doorbell Review!
As part of our wireless doorbell reviews, we decided to take a look at the Homasy wireless doorbell to see what this cheap, ultra small wireless doorbell has to offer.
Without a doubt, the most striking feature about this wireless doorbell is the size of the receiver. Are you frustrated that your wireless doorbell it taking up more than one power socket? Fret no longer, because the Homasy has you covered! Let’s take a look at the dimensions:
You have read that correctly. The receiver unit is square and each side is ONLY 2.3 inches long! It is amazing how a little receiver can pack such a powerful punch in terms of volume.
The receivers simply plug into a wall socket and the push button is powered by a 12v23A battery which should see 10,000 presses before it needs to be replaced!

The advertised distance for the Homasy mini wireless doorbell is 600 feet (183m), which means you are likely to get around 50% when installing in your home.
You have to remember that there are many obstacles between your wireless doorbell push button and receiver. Walls, doors, other electrical items, and floors will weaken the wireless signal as it passes through them on the way to the receiver.
That being said, 600 feet in open air will give you more than enough distance capabilities for a regular size home.
The Homasy has anti-interference wireless technology which acts to greatly reduce the impact from other wireless items you may have around your home.
There are 52 different ringtones to choose from!
The tones range from the classic ‘ding dong’ to more melodic options. Follow these simple instructions to select your favorite tune:
The volume range is 25dB-110dB which is more than enough volume for a regular size home! The volume increments are as follows:
25db – 70dB – 90dB – 110dB
110dB is more than enough, and the Homasy options must be considered if you are deaf or hard of hearing.
Not only does it have an excellent volume range, but the Homasy also has an LED light to offer a visual alert to alert you to a visitor.
Whilst there are louder wireless doorbell options (some hitting 125dB!), 110dB is simply loud enough!
There are two things you need to consider when thinking about a weatherproof wireless doorbell.
In terms of being waterproof, the Bodyguard wireless doorbell is rated IP44. As far as we are concerned, IP33 is the lowest you should go when choosing a wireless doorbell.
IP44 is certainly good enough to place the push button outside. For more information about wireless doorbell IP ratings, check out the explanation in our waterproof doorbells post.
Working Temperature Range
The working temperature range for the Bodyguard wireless doorbell is -7.6°F to 149°F (-22°C – 65°C).
That temperature range makes it a great option if you live in a hold or cold climate.
Wireless doorbell installation is easy! The Homasy doorbell is no different.
Pairing the doorbell receiver with the push button is extremely easy, simply follow the same instructions as you would when choosing a new ringtone:
- Press the forward or back button to choose your favorite tune, the receiver playing is the tune selected.
- Hold the volume control button for about 5 seconds and release until a “Ding dong” is heard, and the LED indicator is flashing.
- Press the transmitter button to send a signal to receiver a confirm, when the tuning setting is successful, the receiver will play the selected tune automatically.
The wireless doorbell kit comes with screw and adhesive strips to secure the push button to your front door.
In terms of how you install it to your door, it is completely up to you. There are drawbacks to using either the adhesive or the screws.
Using the adhesive strips allows you to secure the push button without causing damage to the frame of your door. If you are not happy with having screw holes in your door frame then we suggest that you use the adhesive strips.
The only drawback is the strength of the bond. If your front door is exposed to the elements (if you do not have a porch) then the rainwater may weaken the bond over time.
You may choose to screw the push button onto your door, which is the decision we always go for. You will always need a doorbell, so although they are screw holes in the door, they are always going to be used to host the push button.
In fact, we not only use the screws to secure the push button, but we also use the adhesive to add is some extra protection. Over time, the push button could cause a little damage to the doorframe, so the adhesive offers protection.
Every Homasy product enjoys a 12-month warranty and a worry free 60 days money back guarantee!
After reviewing the Homasy wireless doorbell, we are confident that it will meet your expectations!
The design is awesome, for such a small receiver it still makes us wonder how they could make it so loud.
The design is very minimalistic and it is such an easy wireless doorbell to install.
After the size of the receiver, we could not believe the price per unit! It may be very cheap, but the build quality is good and the reliability cannot be questioned.
